About
I’m Andrew Jackson, a game programming student at Staffordshire University. The view some of my work look at the Portfolio page.
I enjoy playing games, I started on the PC although more recently I have getting more 360 games. My love of games and programming is what led me to doing a degree in games programming. I also worked on a Half Life 2 mod called Project-Unknown while I was at college but we never got it to a release version. I still have all the work done on it, so maybe someday I will finish it.
I spent most of my childhood growing up around Newark, Nottinghamshire after moving there when I was 6. I went to Sir William Robertson High School in Lincolnshire and did my GCSEs there before going to Grantham College to do a BTEC in IT.
My course covers aspects of programming with some modules on games programming. I am learning C/C++, C# and Java as well as programming concepts such as multi-threading. In the games related modules I have done 3D graphics, physics and AI. I am currently on the placement year of my course working at Eurocopter in Munich, Germany.
